AASHE Conference & Expo 2026

The conference took place at the Hilton Inner Harbor in Baltimore, MD.

The conference was billed as bringing together higher education staff, faculty, students, administrators, business partners, nonprofit leaders, and community members focused on sustainability.

Attendees were expected to include sustainability officers, facilities managers, faculty, students, nonprofit executives, and community leaders working on institutional and environmental sustainability.

It is most useful for campus sustainability officers, faculty and students in higher education, since the organizer is the sustainability-in-higher-education association and the audience spans staff, faculty, administrators and students, with the 20th anniversary edition drawing a long-standing community. Business partners and nonprofit leaders also attend, but those outside higher education, or seeking a corporate sustainability buyer show, would find the focus narrower.

Attendees at higher education sustainability conferences usually wear casual to business casual, with jeans, sweaters and comfortable shoes common alongside some blazers. Baltimore in early October can be mild to cool, so a light jacket is sensible.
