About
AHR Expo debuted in 1930 as the premier event for the air conditioning, heating and refrigeration industry, produced by the International Exposition Company (IEC), founded in 1911. The inaugural edition launched in Philadelphia at the Commercial Museum as a spinoff of the National Exposition of Power and Mechanical Engineering; ASHRAE joined as a co-sponsor in 1947, and AHRI joined in the early 1970s. AHR Expo and ASHRAE remain independent organizations: ASHRAE and AHRI co-sponsor the expo, while the concurrent ASHRAE Winter Conference is planned and run separately. Attendees who register for the ASHRAE Winter Conference, held January 23–27, 2027 in Chicago, can also access the AHR Expo show floor at no charge.
