The conference was held at the Orange Beach Convention Center in Orange Beach, Alabama.
School Certifying Officials, educators, and other professionals working with military-connected students were the intended attendees.
It suited School Certifying Officials and other campus staff who certify veteran and military-connected students for education benefits, since the week was devoted to training for that exact job and the AVAA has been running since 1974. Professionals outside benefits certification, such as general admissions or academic staff, would have gotten less from a five-day program aimed at one specialty, and vendors seeking a broad buyer pool would have found a narrow one.
A light layer was useful for air conditioned session rooms in October.
