On October 5 in Salem, the program was billed as a chance to hear directly from state leaders about the outlook for OHP and Oregon’s safety-net programs, explore what major policy and funding changes mean for organizations delivering care, and dig into what nearly 15 years of Oregon’s Coordinated Care Model have taught us. Breakout sessions were scheduled to highlight practical work happening across Oregon, from strengthening the behavioral health and social safety nets to sustaining community health worker services, building workforce pathways, advancing health equity, supporting housing and nutrition, partnering with Tribes and schools, and using data to drive community-led change. The day was scheduled to close with legislative leaders discussing the decisions that will shape Oregon’s path forward and how we can build a stronger, more sustainable health coverage and care system together.
