About
This yearly workshop trains orthopaedic residents between their second and fifth postgraduate years, fellows, and early-career faculty who hope to build careers combining clinical practice with research. Seats were awarded after a demanding application review rather than on a first-come basis. The content aimed to strengthen abilities a surgeon-scientist relies on, from research methods and ethical research conduct to leadership, management, professionalism, and communication. ORS runs the program, which was started in 2003 because of worry over how many future clinician scholars were entering the field.
