Eastern District Conference 2026

Eastern District Conference 2026 was held at Tenaya Lodge in Yosemite, CA.

Attorneys and federal judges of the Eastern District of California attend Eastern District Conference.

The 2026 theme was "Courtroom to Courtside."

Friday was scheduled to include 4:00pm registration, a 6:00pm reception dinner, and an 8:30pm FBA mixer. Saturday was scheduled to include a welcome address, agency reports, plenaries, lunch speakers on the San Quentin Prison Marathon, and dinner.

Published speakers included Phoebe Wall Howard for the opening plenary, Markelle "The Gazelle" Taylor and Tommy Wickerd for "26.2 to Life," and Cecilia Han as moderator.

It is most useful for attorneys who practice in the Eastern District of California, since federal judges attend and speak, including Chief District Judge Troy L. Nunley and Chief Bankruptcy Judge Christopher D. Jaime, and breakouts were split for civil, criminal and bankruptcy lawyers with 6-8 MCLE hours available. Lawyers who do not appear before this court would get less from it, because the program is tied to the district and its weekend at Tenaya Lodge leans social, with a reception dinner and a mixer.

Lawyers at bench and bar conferences usually wear business casual during the day and a jacket for dinners, and a mountain lodge setting near Yosemite in early October calls for layers and comfortable shoes.
