Folk Alliance International Conference 2027

The conference is held in Chicago, Illinois.

Its audience includes folk musicians, artists, music industry professionals, venues, labels, DJs, agents, and organizations.

It is most useful for working folk artists, agents, labels and venue bookers, since the five days combine professional development and networking with music, and the crowd spans artists, venues, labels, DJs and agents. Casual fans or musicians outside folk and roots circles would get less, as the program centres on industry business, with foundation and arts council sponsors signalling a nonprofit, artist-support focus.

Folk music industry gatherings are casual and creative, with jeans, boots, band tees and layers common, plus comfortable shoes for late nights of showcases; Chicago in late January calls for a warm coat.
