GOS Annual Meeting 2026

The meeting took place October 8–11, 2026.

The event took place at The Cloister in Sea Island, Georgia.

Georgia orthopaedic surgeons and specialists made up the intended attendee base.

Surena Namdari of Thomas Jefferson University was the President's Guest Speaker. James P. Higgins, MD, from the Curtis National Hand Center in Baltimore was the GSSH Guest Speaker.

It is most useful for orthopaedic surgeons practising in Georgia, since the Georgia Orthopaedic Society runs it for the state's own surgeons, which makes it a place to meet the peers who share their referral networks and local practice conditions. Hand surgeons had the clearest scientific draw in James P. Higgins of the Curtis National Hand Center in Baltimore, and Surena Namdari of Thomas Jefferson University was the President's guest; surgeons in subspecialties the two guests did not cover would have found little aimed at them. Implant and biologics sales teams had a reason to attend, since Arthrex, Medtronic, Zimmer Biomet and Amgen Inc. were among the listed sponsors, but surgeons and vendors seeking a national audience would have found the pool narrower than at a nationwide meeting.

Surgeons at state society meetings held at resorts usually wear business casual by day, such as khakis and collared shirts or sundresses, with a jacket for dinners; the Sea Island coastal setting in October suggests light layers for evenings.
