KAR Dance Convention 2026

The 2026 convention is at Studio Center in Concord, California.

The organizer identifies dancers, teachers, and parents as audiences for the convention.

It suits studio dancers, their teachers and parents who want a single day of classes across jazz, tap, contemporary, hip hop and musical theater taught by working choreographers, at a scale far smaller than a multi-day national convention. Dancers aiming at professional-level intensives or a multi-day competition circuit would get less from one day in Concord, though the long faculty list gives a broad look at different styles.

Dancers at conventions usually wear fitted dancewear for movement, with the right shoes for each style such as tap, jazz or sneakers, and teachers often dress in activewear.
