Missouri Valley Economic Association Annual Conference 2026

The 2026 conference is at Embassy Suites Downtown Omaha, Old Market, in Omaha.

The association identifies scholars as conference attendees.

It is most useful for academic economists who want to test papers at any stage, from early ideas to journal-ready drafts, since the association encourages presentations across that range and publishes the Journal of Economic Insight. As a regional association meeting founded in 1963 and held at a downtown Omaha hotel, it offers a friendlier audience than a national economics meeting; practitioners or job-market candidates seeking large-scale recruiting would find a smaller pool.

Economists at academic association meetings usually wear business casual, such as slacks and a collared shirt or blouse, with a blazer for presentations. November in Omaha is cold, so a coat is useful.
