It was most useful for Montana presenters, artists and agents who wanted to watch juried acts such as Derina Harvey Band and Bare Bait Dance in person before booking, since the showcase listed 16+ acts and the registration fee of $200 was modest. Anyone outside the state or without MPAC membership would have gotten less, because registration was limited to members and the program was built around touring conditions inside Montana rather than national booking.
Performing arts gatherings in Montana are usually relaxed, with business casual or smart casual clothing, and many attendees add boots or a warm jacket for October in Helena; showcase evenings may have seen slightly dressier outfits.
