It is worth it for apprentices enrolled in the MREA Apprenticeship Program, since attendance is expected once each spring and fall and the day is hands-on skills training at Connexus Energy in Ramsey. Anyone outside the program, including experienced journeymen or utility managers, would get little from it, because the format is a full work day of skills practice for apprentices and is compared to the hotline schools MREA hosts.
Linemen and apprentices at this kind of training wear their usual work clothing and PPE, and the organizer states apprentices should bring both.
