Wilderness First Aid 2026

It takes place at Camp Bert Adams in Atlanta, Georgia.

The course is open to adults and youth aged 14 and older.

The course runs 16 hours, with a four-hour orientation and an eight-hour hands-on scenario day, and the certification is valid two years, so it fits groups heading into remote terrain; people who only need standard first aid for town-based events would get more than they need.

Participants in outdoor first aid courses usually wear practical outdoor clothing, such as field pants, sturdy closed shoes and layers, since scenario days involve kneeling and working on the ground. Scout leaders often wear their field uniform or camp-style clothing at a camp venue like Camp Bert Adams, and rain gear is sensible in a Georgia October.
