UNC School of Government organizes the conference. The NC Administrative Office of the Courts sponsors the event.

It is essential for North Carolina District Court judges who need continuing judicial education, since it yields 12.25 CJE hours and covers domestic, criminal and juvenile law updates taught by UNC School of Government faculty such as Brittany Bromell and Jacquelyn Greene. Attorneys, other court staff and judges from outside the state would get less from it, as the conference is built for District Court judges with a class size capped at 250.
