What attendees say
“NexusCon is the only conference that I advocate to attend. The intentional requirement of eliminating the sales pitches and design on respectful, honest conversations about what's working and what isn't in our industry is what makes this conference valuable and actionable. It's centered on technical realities and collaborating to solve them further together.”

5 answeredNexusCon Conference 2026 starts October 5, 2026.
The 2026 conference is at The Department at Hudson's in Detroit, Michigan.
The published audience includes building owners and occupiers, facility management, energy management and decarbonization, IT/OT and cybersecurity professionals, technology vendors, and other building technology roles.
It suits practitioners in smart buildings, such as owners and occupiers, facility and energy managers, IT/OT and cybersecurity staff, controls contractors and integrators, because the audience is mixed across the whole stack and one attendee testimonial praises the technical, pitch-free conversation. Vendors hoping for a booth-and-lead-scan format would get less from it, and so would executives wanting high-level strategy rather than hands-on technical detail.
Attendees at smart building and facility technology conferences usually wear business casual, such as chinos, button-down shirts or polos, and casual layers. Early October in Detroit can be cool, so a light jacket is sensible.
