The 2026 event takes place at DoubleTree by Hilton in South Burlington, Vermont.
The published audience includes municipal and local officials, employees, and volunteers.
It is worth it for Vermont select board members, town clerks, managers and other municipal staff, since it is the Vermont League of Cities and Towns' annual flagship event and draws local officials, employees and volunteers from across the state. Officials from outside Vermont, or those seeking deep specialist training, would get less from it, as the 250-year local leadership theme and statewide focus point to a general, community-oriented event.
Municipal officials in Vermont usually wear business casual, such as slacks and collared shirts or sweaters, with fleece or a light jacket for October weather. Hotel conference settings like the DoubleTree in South Burlington fit that relaxed norm.
